The Second UCI C1 DH race of the season and the second podium for our NS Bikes team rider. This time Sławek Łukasik showed real class on his home turf in Wisła, Poland and won the race with a HUGE 7,1 second lead.
Besides Sławek Łukasik our team was represented by two NS Bikes / Hotlines UK riders - Will Weston and Sean Davies. The guys did really good in these hard conditions. Will finished 5th in the Junior category with a 2:25.897 and Sean was 26th in the Elite with 2:24.698.
Here is what Sławek told us right after the Diverse Downhill Contest:
"I arrived in Wisła on Thursday. The weather was fine and the track was in a good condition. On the next day around noon everything changed because of the storm and the training had to be cancelled. It was raining non stop till the afternoon on Saturday.
The conditions got better and the trainings were resumed. The track was changing rapidly due to the mud and great number of riders. When the sun was finally out the mud got stickier. Some parts of the track revealed many slippery roots. Deep holes and ruts were successfully preventing all the riders from choosing the perfect smooth line.
On the race day the track started to dry up. So the speeds were better and finally we were able to clear all jumps. My both timed runs were quite good but not flawless. I am really glad that I won on my home turf in Wisła.
The event was a good test of my new gear and I have to say I am 100% satisfied with it's performance.
Now I am back home preparing for the next races abroad. Next stop - IXS EDC in Maribor."
