This bike fit's in between the small sizes of the Nerd Lite and the Nerd JR. It's an ideal all-rounder for older kids (around 140-155cm tall) that want to develop their skills in every direction. Just like it's bigger brother, the Nerd Mini has modern aggressive geometry which gives confidence on jumps and descents and does not limit the bike on trails that require climbing. The big 27.5” wheels are the key ingredient in this bike. Most brands choose to build bikes for riders this age arond 24” or 26” wheels. Our own testing has proven that bigger wheels combined with carefully designed geometry is a much better option.

The Nerd bikes are all about fun - light, efficient and strong.
Kid’s bikes are a top priority for us, and the development of the Nerd JR and Nerd Mini was personally overlooked by our CEO and the NS junior test riders which include his son Max and his friends. The whole team started on the smaller bikes with 24” wheels, then switched to 26” and are now riding the 27.5” bikes. One of the key things we noticed during the process of developing the kid’s bike range was that most young riders are on bikes with wheels that are too small. We all know the benefits of big wheels, don’t we? More stability on downhill sections, more grip, ease of rolling through roots and rocks etc. So why force the young ones to roll on these shopping carts? Well there’s one catch – the geometry of the kids bikes with relatively “bigger” wheels needs to be designed in a different way. The BB and cockpit must be as low as possible. Standover must be taken into account and many other factors must be taken into account otherwise the kids will end up being too far from the ground, with their legs dangling in the air at every stop, and a high front end will make it hard to climb. So, that’s what we did in our kids' bike range – we went loooow. But that’s not everything. Other details that include the crank length, saddle shape, resulting riding position have been taken into account and the result is a bike that we feel is one of the most dialed offerings on the market.
