Why don't you make the frames as tough as the 2004 Streetlegal, that weighed 3.6kg!?

We do! In fact now our frames are even stronger. The reason why they are not so heavy is because we use better tube material, more specific butting, and we have saved loads of weight on details, such as the dropouts. So never think heavy= strong, light=weak. Think smart=strong and light. Also, remember that riders ride much harder today than they did a few years ago. So if there are some broken frames, it's not because they are weaker, it's because they are ridden so hard!

I am very very interested in the NS Traffic frame, but there are some things that turn me away from it. On the site, it doesn't state that it is being post weld heat treated like the NS Majesty. Being not heat treated/stress relieved I am just afraid that it might crack near some of the welds or isn't this a worry to you guys? What other cromo frames do you people know that aren't heat treated?

Actually there is only a FEW steel frames out there that DO have post weld heat treated tubes. You probably won't find too many frames below 500 euro with this process. That's why most cr-mo frame makers don't state anything. This process is used only on the very high end - light weight frames like the Majesty. The Traffic has enough material in the tubes that it does not need any special treatment. Of course it's heavier than the Majesty, but still very acceptable weight.

What kind of tubes do you use in your frames.

The tubes are 4130 Cromoly supplier by Sanko (Japan). The tubes are butted to our very special spec providing the maximum strength where it is needed most.

What's the biggest tire that I can fit in my frame

It depends on what brand tire you would like to use but normally it looks like this:
Suburban, Majesty, Traffic will fit about 2.3" on 26" rim and 2.5" on 24" rim
Capital will fit about 2.3" on 24"
Surge will fit 2.6" on 26" rim

Can I put pegs on my frame?

You can run pegs on the Capital frame.

Can I run a double crown fork on the frames?

You can run a double crown on the Surge. We warranty this. Depending on your weight / riding style you can run a double crown on a Suburban but we won't warranty this. Theoretically you could use a DC fork on the Capital, but what would be the point?

What is the seatpost diameter

27.2mm on all frames, but the Capital comes with a 25.4mm shim to fit BMX style seatposts.

What bb should I use

Suburban: 68mm shell / 113mm axle
Surge: 73mm shell / 113mm axle
Majesty/ Capital: Spanish BB

What size is the internal headset on Majesty & Capital frames?

We use a most common bmx integrated headset standard - Campy spec (45/45 deg) with 41.8mm OD (Outside Diameter) of bearings. This should not be confused as Majesty & Capital frames are NOT compatible with the 41mm OD Cane Creek spec (36/45deg) or 41.5mm OD TH spec (36/36)

I'm using a Quick Release hub and my rear wheel keeps on moving in the dropouts, I can't seem to keep it in the desired position

Are you really sure that you are:
[1]. Tightening your QR's properly?
[2]. Tightening the securing bolts in the axle positioners properly?
If you are doing both, there should be no problem. But remember for single speed we always suggest THRU-AXLE HUBS (such as Coaster SS). This way you can get even more clamping force.

Why don't the axle positioners have the tensioning bolt like normal chaintugs do? Won't the wheel move around in the dropouts?

The reason why we dropped the end bolt is this:
- if someone uses single speed - we really suggest using a bolt thru axle - such as Coaster SS; in this case you don't need ANY tensioners; the bolts will hold the hub securely in place; Also, you can easily tighten the chain by hand.
- if someone uses gears, then there are TWO kinds of forces acting on the axle - pushing towards the BB (from pedaling forces) and pulling the other way (from braking); therefore the end bolt will only help in one direction, but if the axle is not properly secured as then the hub will move anyway (to the back) when braking hard

Can I use gears on my frame?

Surge frame comes with replaceable derailleur hanger. Majesty, Suburban & Traffic frames can be used with rear derailleur however you need to buy a special derailleur hanger (if you want to use the gears on Majesty a bolt thru axle is also required). Capital frame is a singlespeed only frame to be used with bmx hubs (110x14).

Can I repaint my frame?

We can give a green light for painting, but under certain conditions. Treatments like sandblasting, oven heating etc will void the warranty. If you sandblast a frame you remove some of the metal, and this can damage tubes and welds. Excessive heat can also effect the tubes. So if you want to repaint your frame, be really careful about this - preferably consult a specialist.

If I cut down my handlebars will I void my warranty?

As long as you don? cut them in a crazy way that damages the tube, the warranty will be no problem.

Cutting the coaster ss and coaster dh axle.

If you are having problems with the axle like: hitting it with your shoe or ankle, tearing your pants or you are just crazy about your bikes weight - then just cut only the area that sticks out of the nut. It is essential to cut it while the nut is on. In case of any problems with thread you need to use a threader.

Can I use the NS pedals for grinding?

Yes! The construction is strong enough for grinding. For better performance remove the pins from one side of the pedal. But remember that after some strong grinds you may have trouble fitting them again. Pedals as well as pegs wear off after intense grinding - the warranty doesn't cover that.

What spoke lengths do I need to use with your hubs?

Please look up the hub that you are interested in on our website, and there you will find all the info for spoke calculators. One of them that you can use is on www.dtswiss.com
